Niall Breslin and The Polaris Quartet at Theatre Royal Waterford

At Theatre Royal Waterford · The Mall, Waterford, Co. Waterford

Niall Breslin performing with a string quartet under stage lighting at Theatre Royal Waterford

What to Expect

Niall Breslin returns to the road with The Polaris Quartet after a sold-out national tour, playing Theatre Royal Waterford on Friday 16 October 2026. The show is built around his cinematic compositions and works as a single integrated piece rather than a run of separate songs, combining music, spoken word and visual design, with lighting and imagery responding in real time to the players on stage.

The material comes from his album The Place That Has Never Been Wounded, structured across four philosophical acts drawn from the writing of Meister Eckhart. Breslin, also known as Bressie, is a musician, author, academic and mental health advocate, and the stated aim of the piece is to create a shared, concentrated space in the room rather than a conventional gig atmosphere. Theatre Royal notes that alcohol is served and that patrons may stand or dance, with children admitted under adult supervision. Tickets are €32.50.
