What to Expect

Waterford Camogie runs its minor club championship across four graded competitions, Minor A through Minor D, so that clubs of very different sizes get meaningful games. The B, C and D grades play a five-round group series that began in early July and finishes with the last round on Tuesday 8 September. The A grade goes straight to knockout, with both semi-finals on Sunday 18 October.

Minor B closes with Butlerstown against Clonea, Modeligo against St Declan’s and Lismore against Abbeyside. Minor C has Cappoquin against Mount Sion and Portlaw against De La Salle 2, with Ballyduff Upper on a bye. Minor D finishes with Ferrybank against Tallow, St Mollerans against Brickey Rangers and Dungarvan against Gailltir 2. The Minor A semi-finals in October pair Gailltir with Tramore and St Anne’s with De La Salle, four of the strongest underage camogie setups in the county and a fair guide to where the next Waterford senior panel comes from.

• Some groups carry a bye each round, so confirm which games are on before travelling.
• Admission at underage club camogie is a small gate or a collection at the gate.

Getting There

Fixtures are spread across the county and follow the home club. Tramore and Gailltir are in the east, Tramore 15 minutes south of Waterford city on the R675 with a frequent bus service. De La Salle play at Gracedieu on the north side of the city and Mount Sion and Ferrybank are also city clubs on bus routes. In the west, Cappoquin, Lismore, Ballyduff Upper and Tallow run along the N72 Blackwater valley road, and Dungarvan and Abbeyside sit together at the coast, about 45 minutes from Waterford on the N25. Portlaw is off the N25 towards Carrick-on-Suir and St Mollerans play at Carrickbeg on the Waterford side of the Suir.
