Leslie and Flow: Natural Women at Theatre Royal Waterford

What to Expect

Leslie Dowdall and Flo McSweeney, two of the defining voices of Irish rock in the 1980s, take the Theatre Royal stage together on Thursday 1 October 2026 with an all-star backing band. Natural Women is built around the songbooks of Linda Ronstadt and Carole King, with numbers including Up on the Roof, You’re No Good, I Feel the Earth Move and It’s Too Late.

The pairing is new even if the friendship is not. As McSweeney puts it, the show is all about women celebrating women, and it comes after more than thirty years of friendship without ever performing together. That gives the night a slightly different weight than a standard songbook show: two singers with long separate careers finally working the same set of songs from the same stage. Theatre Royal notes that alcohol is served, that patrons may stand or dance, and that children are welcome with adult supervision. Tickets are €32.50.

Getting There

Theatre Royal is on The Mall in Waterford city centre, minutes from the Quay and the city centre bus stops. Drivers arrive on the M9 from Dublin or the N25 from Cork and Wexford, with multi-storey and on-street parking a short walk from the theatre. Plunkett Station, Waterford’s rail and Bus Eireann terminus, is on the north bank of the Suir, about fifteen minutes on foot across Rice Bridge.
