At Theatre Royal Waterford · The Mall, Waterford, Co. Waterford
Waterford Music and the Symphony Club of Waterford present the Killian Browne Jazz Quintet at Theatre Royal Waterford on Friday 11 September 2026. The group is led from the keyboard by jazz pianist Killian Browne, and the programme mixes original compositions with arrangements of 1960s classics, Irish melodies and standards from the jazz repertoire. It is a promoter-led concert rather than a touring package, which is why the set leans on arrangement and playing rather than a fixed show.
The quintet is Killian Browne on keyboard, Dylan Bible on guitar, Cillian Byrne on bass, Lorcan Byrne on drums and Dylan Howe on saxophone and trumpet. Browne and the band have been building this programme around a small-group sound where the front line switches between horn and guitar, giving the Irish melodies and the 1960s material quite different textures across a night. Tickets run from €12.50 to €27.50, so there is a genuine range of price points rather than a single flat rate.
Theatre Royal is on The Mall in Waterford city centre, a short walk from the Quay and the city centre bus stops. Drivers come in on the M9 from Dublin or the N25 from Cork and Wexford, with multi-storey and on-street parking a few minutes away. Plunkett Station, Waterford’s rail and Bus Eireann terminus, is on the north bank of the river, about fifteen minutes on foot across Rice Bridge.
