Waterford Intermediate Camogie Club Championship 2026

What to Expect

The Waterford Intermediate Camogie Club Championship starts its group stage on Sunday 16 August, with eight teams divided into two groups of four and a three-round series running to early September. Intermediate is the middle tier of adult camogie in the county and it takes in both stand-alone clubs and the second teams of the bigger senior sides.

Group 1 opens with Gailltir 2 against Portlaw and Butlerstown against Clonea. Group 2 has Dungarvan against Tallow and An Rinn against Abbeyside. Round 2 follows a week later on Sunday 23 August: Clonea against Gailltir 2, Portlaw against Butlerstown, Abbeyside against Dungarvan and Tallow against An Rinn. The final round is played midweek in early September, with Abbeyside against Tallow on Tuesday 1 September and the remaining three games on Wednesday 2 September, Gailltir 2 against Butlerstown, Clonea against Portlaw and Dungarvan against An Rinn.

• Admission is charged at most grounds and is modest by comparison with adult men’s championship games.

Getting There

Venues follow the home club, so confirm before you travel. Portlaw is off the N25 north-west of Waterford city on the road towards Carrick-on-Suir, about 25 minutes from the city. Butlerstown is on the western edge of the city off the Cork Road. Clonea is inland in the north of the county near Rathgormack, not the same place as Clonea Strand outside Dungarvan. Dungarvan, Abbeyside and An Rinn are all in the west, with Abbeyside on the eastern approach to Dungarvan and An Rinn out on the Ring peninsula on the R674. Tallow is on the far western edge of the county near the Cork border on the N72.
