Hothouse Flowers Acoustic Show at Theatre Royal Waterford

At Theatre Royal Waterford · The Mall, Waterford, Co. Waterford

Hothouse Flowers performing an acoustic set at Theatre Royal Waterford

What to Expect

Hothouse Flowers bring an acoustic show to Theatre Royal Waterford on Friday 2 October 2026. Fiachna, Liam and Peter play as a trio, and the format is deliberately loose: they draw from a long catalogue but the running order and the arrangements shift night to night, with improvisation doing much of the shaping. The band’s own account of the show is that they and the audience become one, which in practice means a set that responds to the room rather than following a fixed script.

The trio describe themselves at once as a rock and roll band, a traditional band and a soul band, and the acoustic setting lets those threads sit closer together than a full electric show allows. A night can run from high-energy playing into earnest traditional material, with humour and open musical conversation between the three of them along the way, and they are as willing to follow the darker influences as the bright ones. Alcohol is served during the performance, patrons may stand or dance, and children are welcome with adult supervision. Tickets are €33.50.
