At Bianconi Restaurant, Granville Hotel · The Quay, Waterford City, Co. Waterford
The Granville Hotel puts on a harvest themed afternoon tea in its Bianconi Restaurant on Saturday 5 September 2026, from 1pm to 3pm. It is €36 per person and includes a glass of Prosecco, with Gavin the Pianoman playing live throughout. The kitchen builds the stands around what is in season, with a run of freshly made sweet and savoury items rather than a standard year round menu, and the room itself is one of the more formal dining spaces on the Waterford quayside.
The date is no accident. It falls in the middle of the Waterford Harvest Festival, which runs across the city from 4 to 6 September 2026 and turns the quays and the Viking Triangle over to food producers, cookery demonstrations and street entertainment for the weekend. The wider festival programme includes the Food Lovers Global Taste Trail, river cruises, a yoga breakfast, the Big Breakfast Swap in aid of Waterford Foodbank, and a guided foraging walk out at Mount Congreve Gardens. An afternoon tea booking is an easy way to break up a day spent working through the taste trail.
The Granville Hotel is on the Quay in the centre of Waterford city, a short walk from the Clock Tower and the Viking Triangle and directly opposite the river. Drivers coming in on the N25 should follow signs for the city centre and use the Quay, Bolton Street or City Square car parks, bearing in mind that quayside parking fills quickly on a festival weekend. Plunkett Station is straight across Rice Bridge, about a ten minute walk, and Bus Eireann and Expressway coaches stop on the Quay itself.
