At The Reg · 2 The Mall, Waterford, Co. Waterford, X91 W866
Grow Remote runs an informal Friday evening meetup in Waterford for people who work remotely or on a hybrid pattern. It takes place on the last Friday of every month at The Reg on The Mall, starting at 7pm, and the next date is Friday 28 August 2026, with further dates listed after that.
There is no programme, no speaker and no pitch slot. The whole thing is people who spend most of their week working from a spare room or a kitchen table getting a couple of hours in the same place at the end of it. That makes it useful for anyone who has recently moved to Waterford for the lifestyle rather than a local office, for people whose employer is based in Dublin, Cork or abroad, and for anyone who has noticed that remote work is quiet in a way that gets old. Grow Remote is a national non-profit that runs chapters in towns across Ireland with the aim of making remote work locally viable, and Waterford is one of its established groups. The organiser notes that photos and videos may be taken at the meetup for social media. Registration is through Eventbrite, and you buy your own drinks at the bar.
The Reg is on The Mall, in the middle of Waterford city and a two-minute walk from Reginald’s Tower and the Viking Triangle. Plunkett Station is around ten minutes on foot across Rice Bridge, and the Quay bus stops used by Bus Eireann and Local Link are closer again, so people travelling in from Tramore, Dungarvan, Kilkenny or Wexford can get there without driving. Drivers coming in on the N25 should follow city centre signs and use the Hanover Street or Bolton Street car parks, both a short walk away. On-street parking on The Mall is metered and limited on a Friday evening.
