At Theatre Royal Waterford · The Mall, Waterford, Co. Waterford
Dan McCabe plays Theatre Royal Waterford on Friday 25 September 2026. He came to attention in May 2020 with a single YouTube upload of his favourite songs arranged in his own style, which passed 50 million views inside three months and turned a home recording into a career. His music sits between the traditional Irish ballad repertoire and contemporary folk writing, and the live show works through both.
Since then the debut single Heaven’s Only a Touch Away reached number one in early 2023, and the first studio album Back to Life topped the iTunes chart in October 2024. He has completed three sold-out nationwide tours and appeared twice on The Late Late Show. The Waterford performance runs approximately two hours plus an interval. Theatre Royal notes that alcohol is served during the show and that patrons may stand or dance, with children admitted at a parent’s discretion. Tickets are €42.50.
Theatre Royal is on The Mall in Waterford city centre, a couple of minutes from the Quay and the city centre bus stops. Drivers use the M9 from Dublin or the N25 from Cork and Wexford, and there is multi-storey and on-street parking within a short walk. Plunkett Station, the city’s rail and Bus Eireann terminus, is across the Suir on the north bank, roughly fifteen minutes on foot over Rice Bridge. Taxis rank along the Quay after shows.
