At Theatre Royal Waterford · The Mall, Waterford, Co. Waterford
Cash Returns bring their Johnny Cash and June Carter show to Theatre Royal Waterford on Saturday 29 August 2026. The band is fronted by JP Mac, whose baritone is the reason the act has held its place on the Irish and UK circuit, and the set works through the Cash catalogue alongside the Carter duets. The show has taken Best Tribute Band at the Hot Country TV Awards in 2016 and again in 2024, and Best Tribute Show at the Northern Ireland Country Music Awards in 2020, 2022, 2024 and 2025.
The act carries an endorsement that matters more than any award: W.S. “Fluke” Holland, who drummed for Johnny Cash for close to forty years, called their work quite amazing. Theatre Royal notes that alcohol is served during the performance and that patrons may stand or dance, so this runs closer to a gig than a formal seated concert, with the usual request to be mindful of people who stay in their seats. Children may attend with adult supervision at a parent’s discretion. Tickets are €34.
Theatre Royal is on The Mall in Waterford city centre, minutes from the Quay and the city centre bus stops. Drivers use the M9 from Dublin or the N25 from Cork and Wexford, with multi-storey and on-street parking a short walk away. Plunkett Station, the rail and Bus Eireann terminus, is on the north side of the Suir and roughly a fifteen minute walk across Rice Bridge. Late buses and taxis pick up around the Quay.
