The Walled City Market is a monthly family-friendly shopping experience with artisan traders offering a wide selection of specialty foods and handcrafted products. Stalls include homemade jams, chutneys and sauces, artisan breads and cakes, organic meats, sweet treats and handcrafted goods. Markets feature live music, children’s entertainment and a buzzing atmosphere in the historic Guildhall Square, set between the Victorian Guildhall building and the River Foyle.
Because it is run directly by the council rather than a private promoter, the market has stayed consistent over the years - the same reliable first Saturday slot, the same emphasis on genuinely local and handmade goods over imported stock. November’s market tends to have a slightly different feel to the summer editions, with warming food stalls and early Christmas gift stock appearing among the regular traders as the run-up to the festive season begins.
Located at Guildhall Square in Derry city centre, within the historic Walled City. It is a short walk from the bus station on Foyle Street and from the city centre car parks off Foyle Street and Strand Road.
