Apex Dramatic Society stages “School of Rock The Musical” at the Burnavon Arts & Cultural Centre in Cookstown, with performances on Friday 30 and Saturday 31 October, then Friday 6 and Saturday 7 November 2026, all starting at 8pm.
This amateur production uses Andrew Lloyd Webber’s arrangement of the hit film, based on the Paramount movie written by Mike White, with a book by Julian Fellowes and lyrics by Glenn Slater. Expect the show’s mix of shredding guitar, thundering drums and rumbling bass lines alongside its more tender harmonies, staged by Apex Dramatic Society across four nights at the Burnavon. It is pitched at fans of the film as much as at musical theatre regulars, and at anyone who fancies a rock and roll night out at the local am-dram rather than a conventional book musical. The run is split across two weekends, late October and early November, giving Apex Dramatic Society’s cast and crew a week’s break between the first two shows and the last two. As an amateur society production, the cast is drawn from the local community rather than professional performers, which is part of the draw for regular Burnavon audiences who follow the group’s shows year to year.
