What to Expect

Omagh parkrun is a free, timed 5k that starts at 9.30am every Saturday at Omagh Leisure Complex on the Old Mountfield Road. The next event is Saturday 15 August 2026, and it then repeats every Saturday, year round. It is open to walkers, joggers, runners and volunteers of every ability, and there is no entry fee and no membership requirement of any kind.

The course runs across the grounds of the leisure complex on a mix of running track, tarmac path and grass. It suits buggies and most fitness levels, though sections are not wheelchair friendly. Finishers get their barcode scanned at the line and results are published later the same day. Weekly numbers run into the hundreds through the summer, mixing club runners doing a timed effort with families walking the whole thing together and parkrun tourists ticking off a new venue. The event depends entirely on volunteers each week to marshal, scan and time, and new volunteers are always taken on.

Getting There

Omagh Leisure Complex sits on the Old Mountfield Road on the southern edge of Omagh town, with a large car park on site that is free on a Saturday morning. It is roughly a 15 minute walk from Omagh town centre and is served by local Ulsterbus routes. Omagh itself is on the A5 between Derry and Aughnacloy and the A32 from Enniskillen, about 70 miles from Belfast and 34 from Derry, so it is an easy detour for anyone travelling that corridor on a Saturday morning.
