Lisa O'Neill: Tour of Ulster

At Strule Arts Centre · Townhall Square, Omagh, Co. Tyrone, BT78 1BL

Singer-songwriter Lisa O'Neill performing on stage with her band

What to Expect

Lisa O’Neill’s Tour of Ulster takes her band through all nine counties of the province, and the Omagh date lands at Strule Arts Centre on Wednesday 16 September 2026 at 8pm. The Cavan-born songwriter has built her reputation on songs that chronicle social and cultural life in Ireland, drawing openly on the older tradition of singers such as Margaret Barry rather than on contemporary folk revivalism.

The venue’s billing quotes the critical reception her work has attracted: The Irish Times on her gift for “giving voice to the disenfranchised”, The Sunday Business Post calling her “a valued chronicler of the disenfranchised”, and The New York Times describing her as “a cultural hero in her own right, a modern artist tapped into the ancient”. She performs with a full band for this run. Strule lists the running time at 2 hours 15 minutes, so plan for a late finish on a midweek night.

Getting There

Strule Arts Centre is on Townhall Square in the centre of Omagh, beside the Strule river and a short walk from High Street and Market Street. Omagh sits at the junction of the A5 Derry to Aughnacloy road and the A32 from Enniskillen, roughly 70 miles from Belfast and 34 miles from Derry. There is council parking at Kevlin Road and Church Street within a few minutes’ walk, and Omagh bus centre on Mountjoy Road is served by Ulsterbus and Translink Goldline services from Belfast, Derry, Enniskillen and Dublin. The centre itself has limited parking, so arriving early on a concert night is worth doing.
