What to Expect

Legends of the 60s comes to The Burnavon in Cookstown on Thursday 22 October 2026 at 8pm. The show is fronted by three singers and musicians, named in the billing as Stephen, Raymond and Chris, working through what the venue describes as “high quality tributes to icons like Elvis, The Beatles, The Monkeys, The Rolling Stones, Roy Orbison, Tom Jones, Cliff Richard, The Beach Boys and the Drifters” along with further acts across the night.

The running order takes in more than forty hit songs from the decade, which means short bursts rather than long sets from any one tribute. It is built as a participation show: the promoters point to hand clapping, swinging and singing along as part of the evening rather than an incidental extra. The framing works both ways, aimed at people who lived through the sixties first time round and at younger audiences coming to the material fresh.

Getting There

The Burnavon sits on Burn Road in Cookstown, a minute from the town’s main street. Cookstown is on the A29 running between Dungannon and Magherafelt, and on the A505 from Omagh, about 45 miles from Belfast and 20 miles from Dungannon. There is free parking at the arts centre and more in the town centre car parks nearby. Ulsterbus services connect Cookstown with Belfast, Dungannon, Magherafelt, Omagh and Coalisland during the day, but late evening return services are thin on a Thursday, so driving is the practical option for most people coming from outside the town.
