Tyrone Intermediate Football Championship 2026: Round One

What to Expect

The intermediate grade is where Tyrone’s championship gets its closest games. Sixteen clubs go into round one of the 2026 Connollys of Moy Tyrone Intermediate Football Championship, and the eight first-round ties are packed into four days between Thursday 27 August and Sunday 30 August. Clogher, one of the 2025 championship winners represented at the launch in Moy on 8 August, are in the mix again. Games are played at neutral club grounds, with Stewartstown, Omagh, Loughmacrory, Eglish and Killyclogher sharing the round.

Round one in full: Thursday 27 August, Killeeshil v Derrylaughan at Stewartstown, 7.30pm. Friday 28 August, Aghyaran v Moy at Omagh, 6.45pm, followed by Cookstown v Drumquin at Omagh, 8.15pm. Saturday 29 August, Greencastle v Beragh at Loughmacrory, 4pm, then Rock v Kildress at Loughmacrory, 5.30pm. Sunday 30 August, Clogher v Pomeroy at Eglish, 1.30pm; Owen Roes v Aghaloo at Killyclogher, 4.30pm; and Gortin v Naomh Eoghan at Killyclogher, 6pm. The Friday and Saturday pairings are double-headers, with two games back to back at Omagh on 28 August and two at Loughmacrory on 29 August.

Getting There

Killyclogher is at 36 Drumnakilly Road on the eastern edge of Omagh, a few minutes from the A505 Cookstown road. Omagh itself is on the A5 and is the best-served venue by Ulsterbus. Stewartstown and Eglish sit in east Tyrone within easy reach of the M1 at Dungannon, while Loughmacrory is up in the Sperrin foothills off the A505 between Omagh and Carrickmore. Every venue has free parking at the grounds, but the lanes into the smaller clubs are narrow and get busy from about half an hour before throw-in. Public transport to the rural venues is very limited in the evening, so plan to drive or share a lift.
