What to Expect

Omniplex runs a Sensory Friendly screening every weekend at around noon at all of its cinemas, and the Omagh seven screen site is part of that programme. These are ordinary release titles shown in an adjusted auditorium rather than a separate club or a special one off, and the point is to remove the parts of a normal cinema trip that make it hard for autistic and neurodivergent audiences to attend: the environment is altered rather than the film. The Omagh listings have carried recent family releases in this slot, including Toy Story 5 in a late morning screening.

Because the screening is scheduled for a fixed weekend slot rather than programmed around a particular title, whichever suitable release is on that weekend goes into it, and the film is confirmed on the Omagh showtimes page a few days in advance. Audiences are free to move around, make noise and come and go during the film, which is the main practical difference from a standard screening. Carers, parents and siblings attend together rather than the screening being segregated by age. Booking is through the same online system as any other Omniplex showtime, with seats selectable in advance, and the cinema’s concessions counter and accessible facilities operate as normal.

Getting There

Omniplex Omagh is on Kevlin Road on the edge of Omagh town centre, with the Kevlin Avenue car parks a short walk away and level access into the foyer. Omagh bus centre is a few minutes on foot, served by Ulsterbus routes from Enniskillen, Derry, Belfast, Dungannon and Letterkenny, so a midday screening is reachable without a car. Drivers coming in on the A5 should follow signs for the town centre and then Kevlin Road.
