At Silverbirch Hotel · 5 Gortin Road, Omagh, Co. Tyrone, BT79 7DH
The Law Society of Northern Ireland runs a Small Practice Cluster event for the Fermanagh, Omagh and District and Dungannon and District solicitors’ associations at the Silverbirch Hotel in Omagh on Thursday 17 September 2026, from 12:30pm to 3:30pm. Cluster events are the Society’s way of bringing smaller firms in one part of the country together in a single afternoon, combining a networking lunch with the continuing professional development hours those firms need to log each year.
The afternoon carries two hours of CPD, made up of one hour of compulsory risk and one hour of group study. Two interactive sessions make up the content. The first, led by Law Society President Mark Borland, covers common anti-money-laundering and accounting regulation pitfalls, the kind of compliance detail that trips up small practices most often. The second, delivered by HR professional Helen Claney, looks at talent acquisition and retention in the legal sector, a live problem for firms outside Belfast competing for newly qualified solicitors. Tickets are £55 and are booked through Eventbrite; the listing states there are no refunds. The event runs for three hours in total including the lunch.
The Silverbirch Hotel is on the Gortin Road on the northern edge of Omagh, a short drive from the town centre and close to the A5. Omagh is reached on the A5 from Strabane and Derry to the north and from Ballygawley and the M1 to the south, on the A32 from Enniskillen and on the A505 from Cookstown, which makes it the natural midpoint for solicitors travelling in from Enniskillen and Dungannon. There is free on-site parking at the hotel. Ulsterbus services call at the Omagh bus centre on Mountjoy Road, about a mile from the hotel.
