Nenagh Arts Centre takes part in Harp Day, or Lá na Cruite, 2026 on Saturday, 17 October, a nationwide celebration of the Irish harp coordinated by Harp Ireland. The centre’s own listing invites people to “join us at Nenagh Arts Centre for a special celebration of Ireland’s national instrument,” with the day running as a workshop followed by a public recital.
The day opens with an intermediate-level harp workshop from noon to 2pm, led by harpist Cathy Potter, aimed at players with a minimum of two years’ experience who bring their own instrument. The centre says the workshop will help participants “develop their technique, expand their repertoire and enjoy learning alongside fellow harp enthusiasts.” From 2:30 to 3:30pm, Potter gives a public recital showcasing, in the centre’s words, “the beauty, versatility and rich traditions of the Irish harp.” Together the two halves of the day combine hands-on tuition for existing players with a recital open to a general audience, tying a single local event into the national Lá na Cruite initiative.
Nenagh Arts Centre is in Nenagh town centre, within walking distance of the town’s main car parks and Nenagh’s bus and rail links to Limerick, Dublin and the wider Tipperary road network.
Nenagh is the main town of North Tipperary, built around its Norman castle keep and courthouse, with the arts centre a short walk from the town’s shops and cafes. There is more to see in Nenagh and across Co. Tipperary.
