Distillation, a multisensory theatre piece by Luke Casserly, plays The Source Arts Centre in Thurles on Thursday, 15 October 2026, with performances at 12 noon and 2pm.
Casserly made the work with perfumer Joan Woods, using scent to recreate the Irish midlands bog on stage. The Source describes it as a response to the end of peat harvesting in Ireland, made to help audiences understand landscapes changed by that industry. The performance runs 50 minutes with no interval and is recommended for ages 12 and up, with limited capacity. It is a co-production between the Abbey Theatre and Solas Nua, first staged at Dublin Theatre Festival 2023 and since toured in Ireland, the USA and Canada with support from the Arts Council’s Theatre Touring Award. Two performances are scheduled on the day, at 12 noon and 2pm, with limited capacity for each. Tickets are €12, bookable online through Ticketsolve, by phone on +353 504 90204, or by email at boxoffice@sourcearts.ie.
