What to Expect

The Illegals return to Riverbank Arts Centre on Saturday 19 September 2026 with Niamh Kavanagh fronting a show marking fifty years since two records released in 1975: the Eagles’ One of These Nights and Fleetwood Mac’s self-titled album, the one that introduced Stevie Nicks and Lindsey Buckingham to the band.

Kavanagh won the Eurovision Song Contest for Ireland in 1993 with In Your Eyes and has spent the decades since working across live and session work. The band’s material sits well with her voice, and the two catalogues share the close vocal harmony and guitar interplay that defined mid-1970s California rock. The show runs two and a half hours, finishing around 10:30 PM. Tickets are €30. As with other Riverbank dates this autumn, this is a reduced-capacity event: construction work is under way on the adjacent Newbridge Library building and the seating plan may be adjusted, so book early if you want a particular seat.

Getting There

Riverbank Arts Centre sits on Main Street in the middle of Newbridge. The town is off the M7 about 50 km south-west of Dublin, signposted from the motorway, and there is public car parking within a few minutes’ walk. Newbridge railway station on the Dublin Heuston to Kildare and Waterford line is around 40 minutes from Dublin and a short walk from the venue. Bus Eireann runs services to Newbridge from Dublin, Naas and Kildare town.
