At Tallow Enterprise Centre · Tallow Enterprise Centre, Tallow, Co. Waterford
Dungarvan and West Waterford Chamber is running a practical morning for people at the start-up stage, working with Waterford Local Enterprise Office and Monere Development Services. The session covers the grants, training and business supports available through Waterford LEO, explains what chamber membership involves, and sets out the local support network that new businesses in the west of the county can draw on.
The format is deliberately informal, with time built in for owners to meet each other as well as the agencies. For anyone who has just registered a business, or who has been trading quietly for a while without tapping into any of the state supports, it is a low commitment way to find out what is actually on offer and who to talk to. The venue matters too: Tallow Enterprise Centre serves the Blackwater valley end of the county, an area that often has to travel to Dungarvan or Waterford city for this kind of session.
Tallow is in west Waterford close to the Cork border, about 8km south of Fermoy’s side of the Blackwater and roughly 15km west of Lismore on the N72 corridor. Drivers from Dungarvan take the R672 to Cappoquin and then the N72 west through Lismore. From Cork city the usual route is the M8 to Fermoy and then the N72 east. There is on-street and off-street parking in the town, and Tallow is served by local bus links to Lismore, Cappoquin and Dungarvan.
