So Say So Poetry and Music Night at Wexford Arts Centre

At Wexford Arts Centre Community Garden · Cornmarket, Wexford, Co. Wexford

Poetry and music performance in the community garden at Wexford Arts Centre

What to Expect

So Say So is Wexford Arts Centre’s recurring poetry, storytelling and music night, and edition 29 takes place in the centre’s community garden on Friday 28 August at 7:00 PM. The billed guest is Maras Poesie from France, described by the centre as a performer filled with a unique energy and holder of French slam and freestyle rap titles, whose work moves between improvisation, rap and poetry and has been performed across several continents.

The music side comes from Thunderclap Murphy, playing live ambient sound through a four-corner installation that builds acoustic and electronic layers into a continuous, gentle sound bath. The evening also includes an open mic segment called the 5-Word-Challenge, open to anyone who wants a slot. Places are first come, first served with a five minute limit per performer, so turn up early if you intend to read. The event is funded by the Department, Culture Ireland and Wexford County Council as part of Ireland’s EU Presidency Culture Programme.
