At Bord Gais Energy Theatre · Grand Canal Square, Dublin 2
Only the published dates are confirmed for this programme.
The Silence of the Lambs runs on stage at the Bord Gais Energy Theatre from Tuesday, 24 to Saturday, 28 November 2026, with evening performances at 7:30pm and matinees on Thursday and Saturday at 2:30pm.
This stage adaptation, written by Gina Gionfriddo and directed by Nikolai Foster, is billed as the world stage play premiere of Thomas Harris’s novel, bringing FBI trainee Clarice Starling’s hunt for serial killer Buffalo Bill to the stage alongside Hannibal Lecter’s scenes from behind his cell glass. The Bord Gais Energy Theatre’s own listing gives a running time of 2 hours 15 minutes including one interval, and recommends the production for ages 15 and over; under 16s must be accompanied by a parent or guardian aged 18 or over, and no children under 3 are admitted. The listing describes disturbing scenes of threats, violence and murder, very strong language, onstage prosthetic human remains, sexual references, sexual harassment and violence, flashing lights, haze and loud noises including gunshots, so it is firmly not a show for younger or more sensitive audiences. It is an all-seated production throughout the run.
Bord Gais Energy Theatre is on Grand Canal Square, Dublin 2. The Luas Red Line and DART both stop at Grand Canal Dock, right beside the venue.
The Docklands is the redeveloped area around Grand Canal Dock and the Liffey quays, home to the theatre itself alongside a mix of bars, restaurants and office blocks. There’s more to see across Co. Dublin.
