Rock Rising - The Supreme Classic Rock Show plays the Barbican Centre in Drogheda on Saturday, 28 November 2026, from 8pm to 10:30pm.
A full live band performs a classic-rock revue covering Queen, Led Zeppelin, Deep Purple and more over the course of the evening. It’s the kind of show built around songs the room already knows, played live rather than to a backing track, running for two and a half hours from 8pm to 10:30pm, in the Barbican Centre’s own venue on William Street. Expect a set drawn from the biggest names of the classic rock era rather than a single-artist tribute, so the night moves between bands rather than staying with one back catalogue.
The Barbican Centre operates out of St Peter’s Parish Centre on William Street, in Drogheda town centre, within walking distance of the rest of the town’s pubs and restaurants if you want to make a night of it.
Drogheda is the biggest town in Co. Louth, split by the River Boyne, with a history that runs from a 13th-century walled town to a 21st-century commuter belt on the M1. St Laurence’s Gate and Millmount Fort are both a short walk from the town centre, and the town is also the gateway to the Boyne Valley, with Newgrange and Knowth about fifteen minutes away. If you’re staying over after a late finish, there’s a good spread of pubs and restaurants around West Street and the riverside within easy reach of William Street.
