At Hillgrove Hotel · Old Armagh Road, Monaghan, Co. Monaghan
The Rock Rising Show comes to the Hillgrove Hotel on the Old Armagh Road in Monaghan town on Saturday 2 October 2026. Doors open at 7pm and the concert starts at 8pm, with tickets at €32.50 including the booking fee. The Hillgrove runs its concerts and country dances in the hotel’s large function room, which is set up as a proper concert space for these nights rather than the everyday bar-and-lounge layout of PK’s Bar next door.
This is one of a small number of ticketed concerts the hotel programmes across the autumn and into 2027, sitting alongside Derek Ryan a fortnight later. The Hillgrove sells the night two ways: a concert-only ticket, or an overnight package combining bed and breakfast, a two-course meal and the concert ticket at €165 per person sharing. The package is the reason a lot of the audience at these shows travels from outside the county, and it books through the same page on the hotel’s website. Payment for concert tickets is taken in full at the time of booking. If you want the package rather than the standalone ticket, book directly rather than through a third-party seller.
The Hillgrove Hotel is on the Old Armagh Road on the eastern edge of Monaghan town, about a 15-minute walk from the Diamond or a short taxi ride. The hotel has a large free car park on site. Monaghan town is on the N2 about 90 minutes from Dublin and under an hour from Belfast via the A3 and N12. Bus Éireann services from Dublin, Armagh, Cavan and Derry use the bus station on North Road, roughly a mile from the hotel.
