Omniplex Longford - Accessible and Special Screenings

At Omniplex Longford · Bridge Street, Abbeycartron, Longford, Co. Longford

Cinema screen at Omniplex Longford on Bridge Street

What to Expect

Omniplex Longford is the county’s only multiplex, on Bridge Street in the town centre, and alongside the daily run of new releases it carries the chain’s recurring accessible and special strands. Sensory-friendly screenings run every weekend around noon: the volume comes down, the house lights stay partly up, trailers are dropped, and nobody minds if someone needs to move about or step out. Subtitled screenings of current blockbusters run on Monday evenings, and audio description is available with a headset for anyone who wants it.

The rest of the recurring programme is built around who is in the room. Parent and Baby sessions run on Wednesdays with the sound lowered and the lights kept up, so a trip to the cinema with an infant does not mean total darkness and silence. Kids Club runs at weekends with reduced prices on a rotating selection of family films. Once a month the Classics slot brings back an older title on the big screen, and Secret Screenings tell you the genre but not the film. Live and Events broadcasts, covering concerts, opera and similar programming beamed into cinemas nationally, appear in Longford whenever a title is scheduled for this site. Because these are chain-wide strands repeated week after week, the specific film in each slot changes constantly and is confirmed on the cinema’s own booking page rather than announced far ahead.
