What to Expect

The Hynes Driving School U18 Club Championship is Offaly Camogie’s minor-age competition and it closes out on Tuesday 8 September with four finals played on the one evening: the A Final, the A Shield Final, the B Final and the C Final. Twelve clubs took part across three divisions in 2026. Group 1 held Tullamore, Drumcullen, Kilcormac Killoughey and Birr, Group 2 held St Rynagh’s, St Cillian’s Lusmagh, St Sinchill’s and Belmont, and the standalone C Division held Edenderry, Shinrone, Naomh Bríd and Kinnitty.

The group phase ran on three Tuesdays between May and July, and produced some heavy scorelines. Tullamore beat Birr by 11-14 to 3-0 in Round 3, St Sinchill’s put 9-20 past Belmont on the opening night, and Naomh Bríd racked up 7-07 against Shinrone in the C Division. The semi-finals were played on Tuesday 28 July, pairing Tullamore with St Sinchill’s and St Cillian’s Lusmagh with Drumcullen in the A grade, Kilcormac Killoughey with Belmont and St Rynagh’s with Birr in the B grade, and Naomh Bríd with Kinnitty and Shinrone with Edenderry in the C.

Getting There

Finals are normally fixed for neutral grounds near the middle of the county so that both clubs travel roughly the same distance, with Tullamore, Kilcormac and Birr the venues most often used. All three sit on or near the N52, which runs the length of Offaly from Birr through Kilcormac to Tullamore and on to Kilbeggan and the M6. Tullamore has the county’s main railway station, on the Dublin Heuston to Athlone and Galway line. Parking is available at every club ground.
