At Tullamore Library · O'Connor Square, Tullamore, Co. Offaly
Offaly Libraries Comic Con takes over Tullamore Library for a full day on Saturday 12 September 2026, running from 10am to 4pm. It has been a fixture of the library calendar since 2019 and is built around comics and graphic novels, science fiction and fantasy, film, magic and making things. The building is given over to the event, so readers, artists, cosplayers and gamers all get a run of the place rather than being squeezed into a corner.
The 2026 line up includes the cosplay competition that anchors the day, VEX Robotics displays, creative workshops, scavenger hunts through the library and the gaming van parked up outside. Offaly Libraries have also flagged one new attraction that had not been announced when this page was written. The event is funded by Creative Ireland and Offaly Libraries, which is why the whole thing is free, and it draws families from well beyond Tullamore.
Tullamore Library is on O’Connor Square in the middle of town, within a couple of minutes’ walk of the main shopping streets. Tullamore is reached on the N52 from Mullingar and Birr and on the N80 from Portlaoise. There are pay and display spaces on and around O’Connor Square plus larger town centre car parks a short walk away, and Saturday mornings are busy, so come early. Tullamore railway station is on the Dublin Heuston to Galway line and is about fifteen minutes on foot from the library door.
