Offaly Junior B Football Championship 2026: Round 3

What to Expect

The Junior B Football Championship is the broadest adult football competition in Offaly, run across two groups and drawing in clubs from every corner of the county alongside the lower teams of larger parishes. Round 3 is played over the Saturday and Sunday of the mid-August championship weekend, with four games spread across four small grounds. These are the fixtures that keep second and third teams on the field in clubs that would otherwise struggle to field at all, and the standard varies wildly from game to game.

Saturday opens with Clonmore Harps hosting Daingean at Clonmore in the early afternoon, followed by Ballyfore against Ballyskenagh-Killavilla at Ballyfore. Sunday brings Ballycommon v Gracefield at midday and Ballinagar v Tullamore under the evening light at Ballinagar. Ballyskenagh-Killavilla making the trip from the far south of the county to the north east is the kind of journey that only happens in the junior grades, and it is a fair marker of how wide the Offaly club map is.

• Sunday 16 August: Ballinagar v Tullamore, Ballinagar, throw-in 6:00pm, Group 1.
• Admission is taken at the gate where a gate is operated. Offaly GAA publishes fixtures weekly and they can move, so check offaly.gaa.ie.

Getting There

All four venues are small rural club grounds reached by regional and local roads, and none has a bus service worth relying on. Ballinagar is a few kilometres south east of Tullamore, close to the R420 towards Portarlington. Ballycommon sits north east of Tullamore near the Grand Canal, signposted from the R402 Daingean road. Clonmore and Ballyfore are both in the eastern half of the county between Tullamore, Portarlington and Edenderry. Parking is at the grounds or on the verge, and the approach lanes are narrow, so leave a little extra time.
