Offaly Intermediate Camogie Championship 2026: Round 1

What to Expect

The Eliza Care Group Intermediate Championship opens on Saturday 15 August with all four first-round games played on the same afternoon. Eight clubs are split into two groups. Group 1 holds Tullamore, Belmont, St Sinchill’s and Ballinamere Durrow. Group 2 holds Kinnitty, Lusmagh, Kilcormac Killoughey and Shinrone. Several of the clubs field at both senior and intermediate level, so the competition often turns on which players are available on a given weekend.

The grade matters beyond county borders. The intermediate champions go on to represent Offaly in the Leinster Club Championship at the end of October, which makes this one of the county’s genuine routes to provincial competition. Round 1 pairs Tullamore with Kinnitty, Lusmagh with Belmont, Shinrone with Ballinamere Durrow and St Sinchill’s with Kilcormac Killoughey. The group phase runs through August and September before knockout camogie in October.

• Semi-finals are down for Saturday 10 October and the county final for Saturday 24 October 2026.
• The winners go forward to represent Offaly in the Leinster Club Championship at the end of October.
• Venues and throw-in times are confirmed by Offaly Camogie in the week of each round.

Getting There

The eight clubs are spread across the county, so the venue depends on the draw. Kinnitty sits at the foot of the Slieve Bloom Mountains on the R440 from Birr, Lusmagh is close to Banagher on the Shannon side, and Kilcormac and Belmont are in the centre and west of the county off the N52 and N62. Tullamore is the easiest to reach, with a railway station on the Dublin Heuston to Athlone and Galway line and direct road links on the N52 and N80. All club grounds have parking, but check the confirmed venue with Offaly Camogie before you travel.
