New Year's Eve Dublin Festival 2026

Dublin’s New Year’s Festival runs from Wednesday, 30 December 2026 to Friday, 1 January 2027, with the main Countdown Concert at Dublin Castle on Thursday, 31 December from 8:00pm to 12:30am, building to the Midnight Moment that welcomes 2027.

What to expect

The festival’s own schedule lists a Music Trail across Dublin city centre from 5:00pm on 30 December, a free, non-ticketed showcase of live performances from up and coming Irish musicians spanning traditional, rock, indie and punk. Also on 30 December, the Echoes of Ireland Concerts run from 3:30pm to 8:00pm at Dublin Castle, again free and non-ticketed. On 31 December itself, an earlier Countdown Concert Matinee runs from 4:00pm to 6:30pm at Dublin Castle, before the main Countdown Concert from 8:00pm to 12:30am and the Midnight Moment. On New Year’s Day, the Ignite and Excite Procession moves through the city centre from 4:30pm, with further free New Year’s Day Concerts at Dublin Castle and a lineup of traditional musicians at Meeting House Square. Dublin Castle is on Dame Street, Dublin 2, in the city centre.

While you’re in City Centre

Dublin’s city centre around Dame Street, Temple Bar and Grafton Street is where most of the festival’s events take place, all within easy walking distance of each other. There’s more to see across Co. Dublin.
