At Moat Theatre · Abbey Road, Naas, Co. Kildare
The Mystery Ensemble bring their tribute to composer Howard Shore to the Moat Theatre on Friday 21 August 2026, presented by Red Events. The programme draws on Shore’s scores for the Lord of the Rings films, work that won three Academy Awards and gave the trilogy its recurring themes for the Shire, Rohan and the Fellowship itself.
There are two performances on the night, one at 7:00 PM and one at 9:00 PM, each running about an hour and each ticketed separately at the same price. Splitting the evening into two shorter sittings gives the theatre twice the capacity for what has been a popular touring format, and it means families with younger listeners can take the earlier slot. The Moat’s main auditorium is small enough that the ensemble’s acoustic arrangements carry without heavy amplification. This is one of a run of music nights at the theatre in the same week, with Coldplay by Candlelight on 20 August and Made In Jersey on 22 August.
Naas is directly off the M7, about 35 km south-west of Dublin, and the town is signposted from the motorway. The Moat Theatre is on Abbey Road, a short walk from the main street, with town centre car parks nearby. Regular buses run between Dublin city centre and Naas. Sallins and Naas station on the Dublin Heuston commuter line is roughly 4 km away, with taxis usually available. If you are booked for the 9:00 PM show, check return transport times before you set out.
