St Tiernach’s Park in Clones hosts the opening weekend of the Ulster Club Football Championship on Sunday 1 November 2026, with the Junior grade quarter-final between Monaghan’s county junior champions and their Antrim counterparts throwing in at 1:30pm. It is the first of two Ulster Club weekends the ground stages this autumn, with the Intermediate and Senior quarter-finals both following on Sunday 8 November, each at 1:30pm, when Monaghan’s county intermediate and senior champions are paired against Derry’s representatives.
Both fixtures depend on results still to be decided. Monaghan’s county junior, intermediate and senior football championships are at the group and early knockout stages through September, and the clubs that go on to be crowned county champions in each grade earn the right to represent Monaghan in these Ulster ties. Whichever clubs go through, St Tiernach’s Park is the county’s main stadium and a regular host for provincial club fixtures given its scale and location. These quarter-finals mark the start of an Ulster Club series that runs on through November, with semi-finals in mid-November and finals at the end of the month into early December.
St Tiernach’s Park is on the edge of Clones town, close to the border with Co. Fermanagh, with signposted parking on site for match days. Clones is reached by road via the N54 from Monaghan town or the A3 from Enniskillen; there is no rail service to the town, and public transport options are limited, so driving is the most reliable way to attend.
