At Swift Cultural Centre · High Street, Trim, Co. Meath

Puca Festival’s comedy strand takes over Swift Cultural Centre for three consecutive nights this Halloween, with a different headline stand-up each evening running Thursday 29 to Saturday 31 October. It turns Trim into one of the county’s busiest comedy weekends of the year, all inside the town’s main theatre venue.
Thursday night belongs to Enya Martin, who built a following through her “Giz A Laugh” sketches on Facebook before moving into live stand-up, where she has since sold out multiple nights at Dublin’s Vicar Street and toured theatres and venues across Ireland. Her set mixes relatable stories with sharp, fast-paced material and the same personality that made her online sketches spread in the first place. Friday brings John Colleary with his show Mighty Quack, and Saturday closes the run with Shane Daniel Byrne’s Baby This Time, an hour of quick-fire material to send the festival’s Halloween weekend out on a laugh. Each night stands alone as a separate ticketed show rather than a shared bill, so audiences can pick a single night or catch the run across all three. Swift Cultural Centre’s proper theatre setting, raked seating and full sound give touring comedians a better room than a pub function space, which is part of why Puca has built its comedy programme around the venue. Given the Halloween weekend timing and Puca Festival’s growing profile across Trim and Athboy, these shows tend to move well, so booking ahead is worthwhile.
Swift Cultural Centre is on High Street in central Trim, within walking distance of the town’s car parks and bus stops. Trim is about 45 minutes from Dublin via the M3 and N51, with Bus Eireann connecting the town to Dublin and Navan.
Trim is best known for Trim Castle on the banks of the River Boyne, and the town has plenty of pubs and restaurants nearby for a bite before the show. There is more to see in Trim and across Co. Meath.
