What to Expect

The Linenhall screens Niesamowite przygody skarpetek 3, listed in English as Amazing Adventures of the Lost Socks 3: Ale kosmos, at noon on Wednesday 28 October during the October mid-term. It is a Polish animated feature, 55 minutes long, shown in Polish with English subtitles, and rated suitable for ages five and up.

The film follows the sock characters through a run of separate stories that take in a detective mystery, Wild West duels and a trip into outer space. Across the episodes the socks turn up as sheriffs, detectives, fashion designers and intergalactic travellers, and the humour is pitched to land with adults in the room as well as children. It adapts the bestselling Polish children’s book series by Justyna Bednarek and Daniel de Latour, was produced by Anima-pol, and was directed by Pawel Wendorff and Elzbieta Wasik. Getting There

The Linenhall is on Linenhall Street in the centre of Castlebar, a short walk from The Mall. Drivers reach Castlebar on the N5 from Dublin, Longford and Roscommon, the N84 north from Galway, the N60 from Claremorris, and the N58 from Foxford and Ballina. Irish Rail runs Dublin Heuston to Castlebar services via Manulla Junction, with the station within walking distance of the town centre. Bus Eireann serves Castlebar from Galway, Sligo, Westport, Ballina and Dublin. Midweek street parking around Linenhall Street is pay-and-display, with larger car parks a few minutes away on foot.
