The 80’s Icon Show comes back to Ballina Arts Centre on Friday 16 October 2026 at 8pm. This is the venue’s third time presenting the show, which is a live band running through the decade’s chart material rather than a single-artist tribute.
The setlist covers Duran Duran, Spandau Ballet, Go West, Paul Young, Phil Collins and Nik Kershaw, with the venue promising plenty more heroes of the decade alongside those named acts. Running time is around 120 minutes. The Ballina Arts Centre auditorium seats about 220, so this sits somewhere between a theatre show and a gig: seated, but loud enough and familiar enough that the room does not stay in its chairs for the whole night. The fact that the centre has programmed it three times is the useful signal here, and the same production company brings a Movies Icon Show to Ballina in February 2027 and a Rock Icons Show the following April, so this is part of a recurring series at the venue rather than a one-off booking.
Ballina Arts Centre is on Barrett Street in the middle of town, walkable from the main shopping streets, with on-street parking close by and public car parks a few minutes away. Ballina sits on the River Moy in north Mayo, about 40 minutes from Castlebar via the N5 and N57, an hour from Sligo on the N59 and roughly three hours from Dublin. Bus Eireann runs to Ballina from Dublin, Castlebar, Sligo and Galway, and Ballina railway station, on a branch off the Dublin Heuston line, is about a 15 minute walk from the venue.
