What to Expect

The CTI Business Solutions Intermediate Football Championship is the middle tier of adult club football in Louth, the grade that decides who goes up to senior and who drops towards junior. Twelve clubs are drawn in four groups of three. Group 1 puts Stabannon Parnells, beaten finalists in 2025, in with Glen Emmets and O’Raghallaighs. Group 2 pairs Drogheda sides Wolfe Tones and Oliver Plunketts with Kilkerley Emmets. Group 3 has neighbours St Brides and Geraldines alongside Dundalk club Clan na Gael, and Group 4 is made up of Sean O’Mahonys, St Kevins and Mattock Rangers. Hunterstown Rovers, who beat Stabannon in the 2025 final, have moved up to the senior championship, and Oliver Plunketts arrive as 2025 junior champions.

Round 1 is spread over three days from Friday 28 August. St Brides meet Geraldines at the Cullen Auto Parts Louth GAA Training Centre in Darver at 8:00 PM on the Friday. Glen Emmets play O’Raghallaighs at the same venue at 6:00 PM on Saturday 29 August. Sunday 30 August has the other two openers: St Kevins against Mattock Rangers at DEFY Páirc Mhuire in Ardee at 2:00 PM, then Wolfe Tones against Oliver Plunketts at the Integral GAA Grounds in Drogheda at 4:00 PM. Round 2 is scheduled for the weekend of 4 to 6 September, pairing the Round 1 winners with the club that sat out, and Round 3 follows on 12 to 14 September for the Round 1 losers.

Good to Know

• Round 1: Friday 28 August to Sunday 30 August 2026, throw-ins from 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM depending on the fixture
• Round 2 on 4 to 6 September, Round 3 on 12 to 14 September, with knockout stages after that
• Round 1 venues: the Louth GAA Training Centre at Darver, DEFY Páirc Mhuire in Ardee, and the Integral GAA Grounds in Drogheda
• Championship games are ticketed through the Clubspot app rather than paid at the gate, so buy before you travel
• The senior and junior championships run in parallel through the same weeks, so there is club championship football somewhere in Louth most days from mid August
• Group tables and each new round of fixtures are published at louthgaa.ie as they are confirmed

Getting There

The Cullen Auto Parts Louth GAA Training Centre at Darver hosts two of the four Round 1 games and is signposted off the R171 between Dundalk and Ardee, with a large car park on site. DEFY Páirc Mhuire is on the edge of Ardee, straightforward from the N2 or the R171. The Integral GAA Grounds sit off Cross Lane on the south side of Drogheda, close to the M1 and a short run from Drogheda train station. Club and county grounds park on grass and fill early for a championship opener.
