Louth Senior Football Championship 2026 - Anchor Tours

What to Expect

The Anchor Tours Senior Championship is the biggest competition on the Louth football calendar and it throws in on the weekend of 22 August 2026. Twelve clubs are split into four groups of three, drawn at Millmount Museum in Drogheda. Group 1 has St Josephs, St Fechins and Naomh Mairtin. Group 2 puts Ardee St Mary’s in with St Mochtas and Hunterstown Rovers, who come up as 2025 intermediate champions. Group 3 has Newtown Blues, Dreadnots and Cooley Kickhams. Group 4 pairs Roche Emmets and Dundalk Gaels again, with St Patrick’s completing the section.

Round 1 is spread over three days. Newtown Blues meet Dreadnots at the Integral GAA Grounds in Drogheda on Saturday 22 August at 6:30 PM. Sunday 23 August brings Roche Emmets against Dundalk Gaels at Fr McEvoy Park in Cooley at 2:00 PM, then St Josephs against St Fechins at Páirc Uí Mhuirí in Dunleer at 6:00 PM. The round closes on Monday 24 August when Ardee St Mary’s play St Mochtas at the Cullen Auto Parts Louth GAA Training Centre in Darver at 8:00 PM. Round 2 runs from Saturday 29 to Monday 31 August, when the club held back in each group enters against the Round 1 winner: Cooley Kickhams, Hunterstown Rovers, St Patrick’s and Naomh Mairtin. Round 3, for the Round 1 losers, is played on 5, 6 and 7 September.

• Round 1: Saturday 22 August to Monday 24 August 2026, throw-in times from 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM depending on the fixture
• Round 2: Saturday 29 to Monday 31 August. Round 3: Saturday 5 to Monday 7 September
• Round 1 venues: Integral GAA Grounds Drogheda, Fr McEvoy Park Cooley, Páirc Uí Mhuirí Dunleer and the Louth GAA Training Centre at Darver
• Rounds 2 and 3 also use Páirc Séamus Mhic hEochaidh at Haggardstown and DEFY Páirc Mhuire in Ardee
• Championship games are ticketed through the Clubspot app rather than paid at a turnstile, so buy before you travel

Getting There

The Integral GAA Grounds sit off Cross Lane on the south side of Drogheda, close to the M1 and a short run from Drogheda train station, with parking on site. Páirc Uí Mhuirí is in Dunleer, just off the M1 at Junction 13, and the Darver training centre is signposted from the R171 between Dundalk and Ardee. Fr McEvoy Park is out on the Cooley peninsula and is best reached from the R173 coast road out of Dundalk or Carlingford. Parking at club grounds is on grass and fills quickly for a big draw, so arrive early.
