Dubliner - The Luke Kelly Story at The TLT, Drogheda

At The TLT Concert Hall and Theatre · Matthew's Lane, Drogheda, Co. Louth

Banjo and microphone on a theatre stage in Drogheda

What to Expect

Dublin singer Chris Kavanagh created and performs this 90 minute tribute to Luke Kelly, the Dubliners singer who died in 1984. The show mixes live performance with multi-vision backgrounds that trace Kelly’s life and the songs he made his own, from the ballads that filled O’Donoghue’s to the material that took the Dubliners around the world.

The production has played sell-out dates at Cork Opera House and Vicar Street in Dublin, and President Michael D Higgins has attended a performance. The Irish Times called it “A Must!” and Kelly’s own family have endorsed it, saying they are proud of the way Kavanagh has honoured Luke’s music and memory. It runs in the Main Hall at The TLT, the venue’s larger seated room, on a Saturday night in early October.
