CBPES Breakfast Briefing: Cross-Border HR Information Session

What to Expect

The Cross Border Partnership Employment Service hold a breakfast briefing on cross-border HR at the Carrickdale Hotel in Ravensdale on Wednesday 16 September 2026, from 8.30am to 10am. Martin Casey of Cross Border Solutions presents, covering taxation, pensions, state benefits and flexible working arrangements for employees who live on one side of the border and work on the other, and for the employers who hire them. It is free to attend.

North Louth has one of the highest concentrations of cross-border workers in the country, and the tax and social insurance position for someone living in Dundalk and working in Newry, or the reverse, is genuinely complicated. Remote and hybrid arrangements have made it harder again, because where the work is physically done changes the answer. The briefing is aimed at HR staff, business owners, accountants and anyone advising cross-border employees. The venue itself sits a few miles from the border on the old Dublin to Belfast road.

Getting There

The Carrickdale Hotel is at Ravensdale, off the M1 just south of the border, about ten kilometres north of Dundalk and roughly ten minutes by car. Leave the M1 at junction 20 and follow signs for the hotel on the R132. There is a large car park on site. Dundalk Clarke rail station is the nearest rail connection, about fifteen minutes away by taxi.
