Tadhg J Devery brings his comedy show Pints, Dentures & Rock ‘n’ Roll to Backstage Theatre on Friday, 27 November 2026, at 8pm. Tickets cost €26.50.
Backstage Theatre bills the show as “a fast-paced, laugh-out-loud night of rural Irish chaos,” with Devery writing and performing an ensemble of quirky village characters. It is a character comedy show rather than straight stand-up: the venue’s listing introduces a cast of village characters including a farmer, a housewife, a failed musician, an undertaker, a plumber, a foreman and a Garda, and bills it as a follow-up to Devery’s earlier show A Day in the Country. Expect a full evening of sketches and characters rather than a single persona for the whole set.
Backstage Theatre is on Farneyhoogan on the edge of Longford town, with on-site parking for anyone driving in. Longford railway station, on the Dublin Heuston to Sligo Intercity line, is an easy walk or short taxi ride away, and Bus Éireann routes also serve the town. By road, the N4 connects Longford to Dublin in around ninety minutes. The box office can be reached on 043 3347888, Monday to Friday, 10am to 5pm.
Longford town has a run of pubs and places to eat within walking distance of the theatre for a bite or a drink before curtain. Late November is well into the run-up to Christmas locally, so it is worth checking what else is on at the theatre and around the town the same week. There is more to see in Longford and across Co. Longford.
