Ballymahon Harvest Market

At Skelly's Bar and Courtyard · Skelly's Bar, 16 Main Street, Ballymahon, Co. Longford, N39 Y6T0

Evening market stalls lit up in a bar courtyard at Halloween

What to Expect

Ballymahon’s monthly market moves indoors and after dark for one night at the end of October, setting up in Skelly’s Bar and its courtyard on Main Street for a Halloween night market. It runs from 5pm to 9pm on Friday 30 October 2026, replacing the usual daytime first-Friday format with an evening of stalls, food and Samhain entertainment. Admission is free and no ticket is needed, so it works as a drop-in for families finishing the school week as much as for anyone doing early Christmas shopping.

The craft side of the market brings local makers with handmade jewellery, pottery, candles and crochet. On the food and drink side there are award-winning cheeses, homemade chutneys, local honey, fresh breads, locally brewed beers and seasonal treats. Entertainment through the evening includes fire performance from An Fear Tine, Samhain storytelling and face painting, and visitors are encouraged to come in Halloween costume. The market forms part of the wider Samhain programme running across Longford and Westmeath at the end of October, which also takes in the Dead of Night Festival and the Halloween HQ activity hub in Longford town.
