Limerick Opera Festival presents A Puccini Aria Celebration: A Night of Passion, Beauty and History at Lime Tree Theatre in Limerick, on Saturday, 24 October 2026 at 8pm.
The gala concert celebrates Giacomo Puccini through, as the venue puts it, “some of the greatest arias and ensembles ever written”, drawn from La Bohème, Tosca, Madama Butterfly, Turandot, Manon Lescaut and Gianni Schicchi. The programme is built around Puccini’s gift for melody, dramatic storytelling and memorable characters rather than one single opera performed in full, giving a broad sweep across his best-known work in one evening. Individual singers are not named on the event page.
Limerick Opera Festival frames the evening as part of its wider aim to make opera “accessible and engaging for contemporary audiences”, and Lime Tree Theatre’s own acoustics, described by the venue as “intimate and acoustically acclaimed”, suit a concert built around voice. The show is recommended for ages 16 and up, and the venue operates a no-late-admission policy once the performance starts.
Lime Tree Theatre is on the Mary Immaculate College campus, South Circular Road, Limerick. Free parking is available on campus, though barriers lower after the show starts, so it is worth arriving in good time.
Limerick city centre is a short drive or bus ride from the Mary Immaculate College campus, with plenty to combine with an evening at the opera. There is more to see in Limerick and across Co. Limerick.
