Castleconnell Fright Fest 2026

At Shannon House · Main Street, Castleconnell, Co. Limerick

Halloween decorations and entertainment at Castleconnell Fright Fest

ACM Community Centre runs Castleconnell Fright Fest at Shannon House on the village’s Main Street, a family-friendly Halloween evening packed with what the organisers call “festive frights, spooky entertainment and plenty of Halloween magic.” It falls on Sunday 25 October, the Sunday before Halloween itself, which lands on the Saturday that year, so it works as the village’s warm-up rather than competing with the night itself.

What to expect

The evening runs from 6pm to 8.30pm, and the organisers pitch it squarely as family-friendly, so it is built for children and parents rather than for older teenagers hunting a genuine scare. Beyond that, ACM Community Centre keeps the running order under wraps until the night, so treat the listing’s promise of spooky entertainment as the extent of what has been confirmed rather than assuming a haunted-house format or a specific programme of acts.

Two and a half hours is long enough to be an evening out rather than a quick photo stop, and the indoor Shannon House setting means the weather is not a factor, which matters for a late-October event in a riverside village. Tickets are sold through Eventbrite rather than on the door, and refunds are available up to seven days before the event, so it is worth booking rather than turning up on spec. For families in Castleconnell and the surrounding parishes it gives the village a fixed Halloween gathering point instead of leaving trick-or-treating around the estates as the only option, and for anyone driving out from Limerick city it is a short enough hop to be a viable alternative to the bigger ticketed attractions in town.

Getting there

Shannon House is on Main Street in the centre of Castleconnell, a village on the River Shannon about 13km north-east of Limerick city, reached off the R445 and R525. There is parking near the centre and it is an easy walk from anywhere in the village.

While you’re in Castleconnell

Castleconnell sits right on the River Shannon and is known locally for salmon fishing and its riverside walks, with the remains of its Norman castle above the river and a Georgian terrace running through the village centre. There is more to see in Castleconnell and across Co. Limerick.
