What to Expect

Conor Breen, the mentalist and magician who performs as Teach, brings A Little More Than Magic to the Corn Mill Theatre in Carrigallen on Saturday 3 October. The show is built on psychological magic and mentalism rather than boxes and doves, and it leans heavily on audience participation, with people from the seats ending up doing the apparently impossible themselves.

Breen has a substantial online following, with more than 350,000 TikTok followers and around 30 million views, and he has performed on CBS television and in London’s West End. The Corn Mill is a small community-run theatre, which puts the audience close enough that sleight of hand and cold reading have nowhere to hide. Doors open at 7.30pm for an 8pm start. The theatre is strict about latecomers, who will not be admitted once the show has begun, so plan to be in your seat well before the hour.

Getting There

The Corn Mill Theatre is on Main Street in Carrigallen, in the south-east corner of Leitrim close to the Cavan border. Roads run in from Ballinamore, Mohill, Killeshandra and Cavan town, and the village is well signposted locally. There is no railway station in Carrigallen; the nearest stop on the Dublin Connolly to Sligo line is Dromod, with Cavan town the nearest large centre on the other side. TFI Local Link runs rural bus services in south Leitrim, though evening coverage is limited, so most people drive. There is on-street parking on and around Main Street a short walk from the theatre door.
