Paahto & The Bull at The Dock

At The Dock Arts Centre · St George's Terrace, Carrick-on-Shannon, Co. Leitrim

Two guitarists performing on a small arts centre stage

What to Expect

Paahto & The Bull is the guitar-duo project of Patrick “Paahto” Cummins and John Francis Flynn, two players who have been working together since 2011 in Dublin’s traditional and folk scenes. Both are multi-instrumentalists, but for this project they have deliberately narrowed the palette to acoustic guitar alone, building arrangements out of two sets of strings and nothing else. The result leans on interplay and restraint rather than layering, with each player leaving space for the other.

The duo recently signed to Claddagh Records and have a debut album due in 2026, so this Carrick-on-Shannon date lands as the material is still being road-tested in front of audiences. The performance runs 80 minutes without an interval, which suits The Dock’s intimate main space, where the stage sits close to the seating and quieter passages carry. If you know Flynn’s solo work, this is a different proposition: stripped back, guitar-led and built around the two-hander.
