What to Expect

Equal Vibes Disco is an inclusive dance night organised by Down Syndrome Ireland Leitrim and held at The Landmark Hotel in Carrick-on-Shannon. The branch bills it as a night of dancing, singing and fun that is open to people of all abilities and all ages, with room to dance the whole way through or simply sit in and enjoy the company of peers.

The early 6pm start and the 8.30pm finish are deliberate: this is a proper disco with music and dancing, but it is scheduled so that families and anyone travelling in from around the county can get home at a reasonable hour. Attendees are encouraged to bring friends and family along rather than come alone, which keeps the room mixed and social. The hotel’s function space is on the ground floor and accessible. Getting There

The Landmark Hotel is at Shannon Lodge on the Dublin approach to Carrick-on-Shannon, beside the bridge over the River Shannon and two minutes’ walk from Main Street. Carrick-on-Shannon is on the N4 Dublin to Sligo road, about two hours from Dublin and forty minutes from Sligo, and the hotel is one of the first buildings you meet coming in from the Dublin direction. The hotel has its own car park with accessible spaces close to the entrance. Carrick-on-Shannon railway station, on the Dublin Connolly to Sligo line, is a short walk away, and Bus Eireann’s Dublin to Sligo coaches stop in the town centre.
