Community CPR and defibrillator training session in Naas, County Kildare

What to Expect

Naas Community First Responders run a free public CPR and defibrillator training session at Craddockstown School in Naas on Tuesday 25 August 2026, from 7pm to 8.45pm. It covers adults, children and infants, plus choking management.

The group’s own framing is blunt and worth repeating: 68 per cent of cardiac arrests happen at home, which means the person most likely to need your help is someone you live with. The session demonstrates chest compressions and AED use across the three age groups, then walks through what to do when someone is choking. Naas CFR is a registered Irish charity, number 20207026, made up of volunteers who are dispatched by the National Ambulance Service to cardiac, choking and stroke calls across Naas, Sallins and Johnstown, so the people teaching it are the ones who turn up. The evening is free. There is an optional donation via the group’s iDonate page for anyone who wants to support the running costs.

Getting There

Craddockstown School is on the Craddockstown Road on the south side of Naas, off the Blessington and Kilcullen side of the town. From the M7 leave at junction 10 for Naas South and follow signs for the town, then pick up the Craddockstown Road. Free parking is available at the school, which makes it the easy option on a weekday evening. Sallins and Naas railway station is roughly 5km away on the far side of the town, so anyone arriving by train will want a taxi for the last leg.
