At Siamsa Tíre · Town Park, Tralee, County Kerry
Only the published dates are confirmed for this programme.
Body of Light is an exhibition of paintings by Romio Shrestha, at Siamsa Tíre in Tralee from Wednesday, 4 November to Saturday, 21 November 2026. Opening hours are set by the organiser, so check with Siamsa Tíre before travelling.
Siamsa Tíre describes the work as bridging the “sacred tradition of Tibetan thangka with a contemporary visual language”, built around themes of light, consciousness and healing. The paintings use crushed mineral pigments, including lapis lazuli, malachite, azurite, coral and gold, a technique tied to the thangka tradition the exhibition draws on. Thangka painting is itself a devotional art form, and Shrestha’s work carries that grounding into a contemporary gallery setting, so expect pieces that reward slow looking rather than a quick walk-through.
The show sits in the gallery space at Siamsa Tíre, which describes itself as “the home of storytelling in all its artistic forms” and runs a wider programme of theatre, music and exhibitions alongside its gallery. It is worth checking what else is on at the venue during your visit, since the exhibition runs for over two weeks and overlaps with other events in the building.
Siamsa Tíre is at Town Park, Tralee, County Kerry.
